Bass Season is here and the action is AMAZING!

Wow, what a fantastic month it has been. The Bass fishing has been phenomenal, the weather has be amazing, and our clients have been great! Erik Luzak from Bass Class entered a Top Bass Tournament on Sturgeon Lake with veteran client Craig Shear, who has been developing his fishing skill greatly over the last 2 season with Bass Class. The pair won the Tournament  with a five fish total weigh of 20.59 Pounds, and won Big Bass with a brute 6.02 pound Largemouth! Congrats Guys! The Kawartha Lakes have been great for both Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. The Orillia area (Simcoe/Couchaching, Gerogian Bay) is unbeatable for aggressive Smallmouth and really starting to heat up for Largemouth as well. Below is the Tournament win picture, and some other pictures from our trips with clients.

After being on the water for 10 of the last 14 days, the Bass fishing is the best its been in years! Georgian Bay Smallmouth are on fire right now, catching nearly 20 bass in the 3-4 pound range each day. Locating them shallow water (2′ to 6′) using a combination of Jerk Baits, Tub Jigs, and Senkos. The Kawarthas have been great for Largemouth Bass! Had several very successful days in the shallow weeds, docks, and fallen trees. Senkos, Flipping Jigs, and Top water frogs have been the ticket! Here are some pictures from some of our trips over the last two weeks.

Bass Season starts off with a BANG! Well over 30 Bass today on a Kawartha Lake (both Largemouth and Smallmouth), an exciting double header with Smallies, and a 4.1 pound Largie to cap off the day. Great work guys! Top water Frogs, Twitch Baits, and Senko’s were the ticket today.

Sunday we had to deal with changing weather conditions while fishing Balsam Lake. Senkos caught the Largies in the morning, then a Jerkbait and Topwater bite picked up in the afternoon for Smallies. Lots of Fun!

Pike are open year round in Zone 17 (most of the Kawartha’s). Had a group out to take advantage of these hungry predators feeding in the shallow back bays, and what a day it was!! Lots count after 65 pike! Craig caught the biggest; a nice 31 incher (pictured below), and Ron achieved a PB of 26 Pike in one day! We also had several exciting double headers. Great work guys!
